Brass Leaf Studio is based in Roorkee, a city with a rare engineering legacy. Roorkee is home to India’s oldest engineering institution, now IIT Roorkee, whose origins go back to the College of Civil Engineering established in 1847.
Over time, the city developed a highly skilled manufacturing ecosystem around scientific equipment, surveying instruments, precision components, and technical metalwork. Roorkee became known for artisans and workshops capable of making instruments that required accuracy, patience, and deep practical skill.
Our family’s connection to this tradition goes back to the 1940s, when our grandfather began learning the trade of scientific and surveying instruments. He became known in the city as a “Foreman” — a title that reflected not only his technical ability, but also the trust and respect he earned among craftsmen and suppliers.
For more than 50 years, our family supplied some of the largest names in scientific and surveying equipment. That background shaped the way we still work today: with precision, durable construction, careful finishing, and respect for materials.
In later years, we carried this technical foundation into brass lighting, glass lamps, and home décor. What began with scientific instruments evolved into lighting — but the core values remained the same: accuracy, proportion, quality, and long-lasting craftsmanship.
Founded as an export-focused company in 2008, Brass Leaf Studio has since created brass and glass lighting for international markets. Today, we bring that same export-quality workmanship to customers across India.
